I hope everyone is having a beautiful summer day. Two words: Frozen. Yogurt. You've heard them enough, right? Between Pinkberry, Yogurtland, Froyo Life, and the Bigg Chill, I think L.A. has seen it's fair share of "froyo" franchises come and go. However, Beverly Hills is bringing something new to the table. And this summer, you'll be going Greek.
First, as a disclaimer, I absolutely detest Greek yogurt. I think it's gross, and not to "spoil" anyone's afternoon, but I think it tastes, well, spoilt. Punny, right? Anyway. Coming from someone who has tried countless Greek yogurts and has hated just about every single one, you need to keep reading if you're on the same page as me, or even if you aren't. Tests have come out with scientific proof that frozen yogurt has harmful chemicals in it, and unbelievable amounts of sugar! But have no fear, I have a solution.

Go Greek! is a yogurt shop located in Beverly Hills that is solely based off of Greek yogurt flown in fresh from Greece every morning. But it's frozen. Everyone's favorite word! Imagine all of the health benefits of natural Greek yogurt squeezed into your favorite dessert. And here's the catch: the yogurt tastes like ice-cream. I kid you not. Though there is a bit of a tangy, berry-undertone to each of the flavors (my favorite: Chocolate) it tastes almost exactly like ice-cream, but better. Though they only carry 4 flavors at a time, the toppings are all natural (from carrots and olives to gummy bears and goji berries!) and you can spruce up your self-serve cup however you'd like.

While making your own yogurt can be fun, the shop also offers pre-picked combinations as well. And it gets better. Each combo on the menu is aimed to help with the following: weight loss, energy, digestion, calcium-iron supplements, antioxidant, skin, healing, and so many more! Go Greek! also makes for the perfect pre or post workout snack, and even if you're planning on a sit-down dine-in experience, Go Greek! provides a truly Greek setting (complete with a market-shelf selling jarred preserves!)

So, whenever you wanna crank out that sweet-tooth without absorbing all of the generous helpings of chemicals and sugar in your average yogurt, or even just need a unique meal, pop on over to Go Greek!- with their Greek hospitality, I don't need to tell you they'll be excited you're there... They'll do it for me. With absolutely nothing to critique about this very fine, fine cuisine, I strongly encourage you to give it a try. Greek yogurt lovers, greek yogurt haters, and anyone else... I guarantee you'll love it!

After a great meal at Il Tramezino, we walked down to 'Lette. We walked into the cute and simple store and were cold instantly. We were hit by the cold air used to keep the macarons fresh and bombarded with the sweet smell of the croons.
It's summer, and the natural dessert to default to is ice-cream. And cake-lovers may try to lure you to the heaven on earth that is Sweet Lady Jane, and no offense to that wonderful restaurant, but I think the L.A. cake community has a new queen (er, Lady) in town: LadyM.

Famous for their seasonal "crepe cake" (which is just as it sounds, up to 20 crepes stacked on top of each other with pastry frosting in between), LadyM also features a fruit tart, strawberry shortcake, red velvet cake, chocolate cake and many more.
I have been to LadyM twice now, and have tried the Checkers Cake (a vanilla-chocolate combo with an intricate design), the Vanilla Crepe Cake, and the Strawberry Shortcake. The simple decor and variety of flavors really make the experience, but I really do have to say that the famed crepe-oriented dessert was a let down. It may be because of it's acquired-taste, but it had a funky flavor to it that just didn't quite do it for me.
However, it was a totally different experience with the Strawberry Shortcake and Checkers Cake. The strawberry shortcake totally blew Sweet Lady Jane's out of the park. The cake is lighter, the frosting was airy, and the berries were sweeter. The Checkers Cake was unlike anything I had ever tasted. I got a different flavor with every bite, and the thin layer of thick chocolate frosting left the most delicious, rich aftertaste which couldn't have been more satisfying.

Overall, my "meal" was delicious. While I only recommend trying the Crepe Cake to sophisticated palette holders, it still may not be the safest choice. However, these two are beyond yummy. And can we take a second to acknowledge the level of intricacy in that Checker Cake? How do they do it? It may be a mystery, but the delectable attraction isn't. Next time you're craving something sweet, there's nothing I'd rather recommend.
Let me know in the comments if you visited, what your experiences were, or when you're planning to drop in!
I can escape the (at times) pretentious, high maintenance Beverly Hills environment and the hustle of West Hollywood, and go somewhere that's a bit more laid back. I love the cool shops that line the streets and the moldings of the buildings. Both work and my moms love for fine architecture keep drawing us back to downtown Los Angeles. But this specific occasion, it was hunger that brought us back!

When I found out Bottega Louie was in Downtown, I was immediately drawn to going here. But I don't think Alena could have said it any better. Because on the West Coast, we really are crazy for 'croons!
I've never been to New York, but I've watched enough episodes of Gossip Girl to know what it looks like! And the Fashion and Jewelry Districts (where my mom works) reminds me so much of New York City.
Back to Bottega Louie. The restaurant is filled with light. And while I can admit, I was pretty ticked off that we couldn't make reservations, the wait was short, and just enough time to take a ton of pics for you guys.
As the appetizers we selected, I got bruschetta, because I mean, I love bruschetta, and my mom eating the light and dainty deliciousness she likes to get, ordered a grilled octopus salad with a lemony vinaigrette. The bruschetta disappointed, because the bread was way to hard and made it hard to eat and that leaf on top of the tomatoes… like what the heck was that? Because it definitely was not basil.
For a main course we ordered spaghetti bolognese which was definitely the most delicious pasta dish I've ever ordered (sorry Fred's Pasta!), mussels with peppers, chives, and toasted rustic bread, and a hangar steak cooked medium with sautéed carrots, bell peppers, and asparagus (and 'shrooms!)
And of course, you can't go to Bottega Louie and just ignore the huge Christmas tree of macaroons, sooooo we got macaroons. And kind of a lot.

Because originally, if you're going to ask me for my justification, I just got the box that fits the 13 macaroons. You know, to share. And then my mom asked what I wanted for dessert, and I just took one glance at the four macaroon choice (of any flavors) on the dessert menu and swooned. So I got that.

But I definitely want to go back. The sun filled, clean white, high-ceilinged restaurant (remember, my mom adores beautiful structures) just made me happy. I don't know what it is. Where there is natural lighting there is happiness. But jokes aside, it was such a yummy lunch and now I'm thinking about the pasta and it's eating me alive. Just like I want to do to the pasta.

See? This is what blogging does to me.
It's such a lovely location, right inside Fred Segal's leafy exterior. But the restaurant's presentation isn't nearly as good as their food! The food's culture is predominantly Italian, but the menu is a combination of foods from many places around Europe.
You feel almost magical if you head in for a dinnertime dining experience. They strung white Christmas lights into the ceiling boards, giving the room a glow. But we always stop by around lunchtime, because eating here is a tradition we have.
The menu is super cute too. Designed to look like a clipboard, it really does carry the look of Mauro's Cafe all the way through. We actually hit Melrose Avenue up for a bit of a walking tour. We started on Crescent Heights and Melrose, to eat at Mauro's, and slowly worked our way down to Alfred's Coffee and Kitchen, by Melrose Place and La Cienaga.

It was so good! I (Carolyn) always gets the same thing. I try to be as adventurous as I can with food, I'm trying to break my "eat the same thing every time you go to a restaurant' habit" but with Mauro's it's absolutely impossible to stray from Fred's Pasta. It's penne paste in a pink sauce with chicken breast and peas.

Okay so fine, maybe I try to eat around the peas, which can be a pretty laborious job for somebody who just wants to devour the whole plate, dish included.

Alexa got Spaghetti Pomodoro. The sauce was smooth and creamy, just the way is always is and should be. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and to top it off, there was just a little sprinkle of parmesan cheese.

After we finished eating, we walked down to Sweet Lady Jane & Alfreds Coffee and Kitchen, but that's another story!

I decided I needed to check it out for myself and decide i it was worth all this talk and Instagram posts. When you walk up to this small and organic storefront, you assume its just a place for healthnuts.. I dare you to check it out.

Pictured, is their famous "Acai Bowl". The bowl is made as so: freeze the pulp of the acai berry, blend it with various other fruits into a seriously thick smoothie. Put that blend in a bowl, top it with granola, fresh fruits, and a drizzle of honey. This could be the perfect meal!

Juice Crafters also has delicious smoothies. My favorite is the the "U Like Um", featuring strawberries, dates and almond milk!

Another favorite smoothie is "divine start"- a mixture of apples, greens, coconut and dates. Don't shy away from it's color, because this smoothie is packed with nutrients! The employee at juice crafters even said that it was the healthiest smoothie they had! Added bonus? It tastes great, too.

I had the pleasure of quite the exciting workout today at Soulcycle in Brentwood with a close friend of mine, and after sweating the most I think all of humanity has ever seen, I was hungry. As always.

Conveniently (you say pre-planned, I say coincidental), my favorite sushi bar was literally fifty feet away: Sugarfish. Now, if by any means you're a "sushi person" living in LA county, there's no way this place has slipped by you. However, if it has managed to do so, I highly suggest you get to your nearest location with an empty stomach.

by Kate Schrage

However, I'll need to slow down a bit with my speed-gun in hand and make sure you're at the proper sushi level to experience Sugarfish. If you classify teriyaki chicken, spicy tuna on crispy rice, Rainbow and or California rolls as sushi, I'm afraid this isn't the place for you. Sugarfish is a strictly traditional dining experience featuring simple sushi, sashimi, and occasionally the hand-roll. That's all.

Whoever is still with me here, I don't mean to criticize this place. Sushi is totally my favorite food. Sugarfish is totally my favorite place. It's just not for everyone. I truly think that if you're willing to sit down and eat fish, and only fish, for a nicely presented meal, it's a really great place.

In course order of the Trust Me meal, they serve a plate of sashimi, two plates (eight total pieces) of straight up sushi, and two hand rolls. The quality of the fish which is, yes, bought fresh every morning at the fish market, is absolutely incredible. Also, another issue which the sushi world is rice. If it's too sticky, it can be the grossest addition to a meal, tooth-residue and all. If it's not sticky enough, you suddenly have a lap full of rice. Sugarfish has just about figured out the whole darn game because let me tell you, they are on point.

Anyway, I could continue to ramble on and on about my love for sushi and appreciation for a restaurant that finally serves it in a way that doesn't scream "American", but I will leave you with the advice to make your way to one of their locations and leave just as satisfied as I.

xx Kate
And let me tell you, it was an absolute pleasure.

We stayed at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, and because my cousins from Korea were with us, we shared a three bedroom connected villa. The kitchenette was extraordinarily stocked, the couches in the living area were bizarrely plush, and the buildings made me reminisce of binge watching Mamma Mia under my covers at two in the morning. They were just so freaking Grecian!

When you drive up to the resort (by the way, what differentiates a hotel and a resort? I've always wanted to know. Let me know in the comments!), you're greeted by a rainbow assortment of hibiscus flowers, ranging from a blush pink with an intense pomegranate red center, to a vibrant crimson. Terra cotta pots that match the Spanish roofs of the buildings hold white, bubblegum pink, and fuchsia blooms. And I'm a big artist, so I go nuts for color shades.

The first day was spent exploring the many pools and repetitively racing down water slides. Well, that was before I got tired, and when the effects of the increased UV radiation (thanks Integrated Science II!) really started to beat down on me (we were in San Diego, give me a break) I slathered on tanning oil on my god awful field hockey tanlines and laid down. And thanks to the trusty we-sell-them-everywhere trashy tabloids, it was a really nice just doing nothing.

We got breakfast at a continental breakfast buffet at Bistro 65, a restaurant within the hotel. Our table was outside, sunlight streaming in through the minuscule pockets of the linen umbrellas. And get this- a man walks around with a hawk (a hawk!) to keep little birds from coming in and eating our food.

The next day, we headed to Aquatica, a brand new water park that opened up in the San Diego area. I'm sorry, no matter how many childhood memories were forged there, I just cannot go back to Soak City. That place is seems increasingly horrific every time I go back.

But this water park, it was different. I liked this tropical, Caribbean theme they had going. They had flamingos -NO LIE!- in this little sectioned off terrarium, and sea turtles in a rocky tank. The slides were in an array of bright colors and the plant compositions went with the theme perfectly.

After six hours of sliding and sliding and sliding, it was time to go. Each slide was unique and was geared toward a different sensation (the thrill of a drop, the fear of almost slipping out of the tube, a gentle, swaying feeling), and I have to say I liked them all. Fine, gun to my head, the race was my favorite. It is six joint slides, that take you down sharp turns in an enclosed tube, before spewing you out onto similar tracks. They provide sled like devices with grips that leave you racing down the slides like penguins. It's incredible!

We had Brazilian food that night at Sabor de Vida, a small an intimate restaurant that exudes charm. I had piranha, top sirloin, with some rice, salsa, and grilled vegetables. And for dessert… Brazilian white chocolate!

The weekend was relaxing, exhilarating, and exciting. And Carlsbad, San Diego, was the perfect host city. It's like the La Cañada of San Diego. And if you are ever looking for a beautiful city with an ocean view, drive down now. Traffic free, it's only a short hour and a half of south of LA.
Antique wooden tables, oatmeal colored lace curtains, and crimson leather benches line the walls, but Sweet Lady Jane isn't old vintage granny- it's familiar and inviting. Little accents of floral print and the paper doilies in place of napkins add to Sweet Lady Jane's sweet little atmosphere.
While they rarely take a leap of faith, whether in presentation or in taste, their classic flavors and impeccable execution are just as enticing, if not more. They offer freshly baked breads, ranging from whole wheat baguette to a crusty loaf of sourdough, and a display case full of various goodies (cream cheese puffs and nutty brownies? Swoon.) are always fully stocked and leave a hungry line down Melrose Street.
But their cakes, oh, those cakes, are legendary. The combination of fluffy vanilla sponge sandwiched together by fresh, homemade whipped cream and sliced raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries never gets old. It seems to get better every. single. time.

They offer a standard collection of cakes, like German chocolate and cheesecakes, but they can customize it with lettering and frosted flowers to fit every occasion.
I for one, and a bit of a pie lady more so than I love cake, but I am impartial to both. I mean, if somebody handed me a slice of red velvet cake slathered in a thick coat of cream cheese frosting, I wouldn't turn away. I would just have a slice of pecan pie to go with it!

The pies are absolute perfection. The buttery crust that shells the sweet and crunchy pecan filling. Gosh, every time I have a slice of that pie, my taste buds die and go to heaven.
We've been going to Sweet Lady Jane since we were in Kindergarten, and it's been tradition for us to get a sweet treat after a day at school ever since. But going to a separate school, we haven't had time to stop by as often, but I we still love it just as much. Besides, we still get nostalgic every time we have a bite of whatever from Sweet Lady Jane. We like to reminisce back to my days in elementary school, stuffing my face with profiteroles. But the great thing about tradition is that there's always room for more.

I hope you make some of your own traditions at Sweet Lady Jane. They'll be ones you won't want to break.
I had the opportunity to travel to Martha's for a day trip- one of my favorites so far! Just seven miles off the tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts (where I have been living with a friend), Martha's vineyard awaits bustling tourists of July and August. Moshup Beach was our last destination in Martha's, and a beautiful and relaxing way to end our activity-packed day.

So, Julia's going to be heading off to Washington D.C., so I'll be covering today's post for her. Just letting you know.

This green juice I'm sipping here tastes... phenomenal! Exquisite, delectable, pleasurable, scrumptious... I can't really think of any more synonyms that would accurately describe the absolute gold I'm tasting now.

So I'm thinking JOOZ should be a thing. Just say it a couple times and it really does start to sound like juice. Right? This can be the first of our many inside jokes together. I'm thinking JOOZ should be a new series... I mean I just got a brand spanking new juicer as a gift from my aunt and I'm thinking that I'll be doing a lot (l-o-t) of juicing this summer.

You might be thinking, "Why is it so important for Carolyn to have this new series?" Well friends, I, being the humanitarian person I am, really don't want to give you the trouble of spending 8 dollars on a teensy bottle of liquified vegetables from some hip new juicery. Okay, so fine. Maybe part of the experience is jogging up to a juicery in workout clothes you never really work out in and whipping out your ten dollar bill to pay for that snazzy glass bottle of pretty green juice. Presentation is a killer.

But it's both difficult and simply a burden to scarf up the approximate 200 dollars to pay for said juicer. That's why you beg and beg until a relative will get one for you! Totally kidding. In all seriousness, it is kind of an investment. If you're going to buy your juicer with your own money, I would really consider the cost to use ratio. Having a juicer just to have one isn't nearly as nice as the color iPod you could get that Apple just released with the money. But I'm going to tell you a secret. I still haven't opened up the juicer, but I still made this recipe. How, you ask? Let me show you.

Ingredients:
1 large celery stalk
3 leaves of romaine lettuce
Grapes (I'm not going to dictate how much you'll need. Whatever fits you. Diabetics need less, Carolyn's of the world need more...)
A small bunch of cilantro
Optional: A small spoonful of chia seeds

It's really that simple! There are the ingredients, in a nutshell. So this is what you'll do, no juicer necessary!

Method:
Wash all of your ingredients thoroughly. You don't want little specks of dirt floating around in your juice. Contrary to what many raw vegans and soil enthusiasts say, I don't care if dirt is health. It's just plain gross. So please wash your ingredients!

Put all your ingredients in a blender. Break up the celery so it fits, but the beauty of blending is the blender does the job for you. No prep, no mess. It's a nice relationship.

Once you blend so the whole thing is a smooth consistency, strain your mixture through a strainer into a measuring cup. My strainer fits snugly into the pitcher so it don't need to baby sit it as much. Your going to get a lot of pulp! Celery is super fibrous, so that is the majority of the good stuff. But don't toss it! I put it aside in a tupperwear and incorporate it (more like sneak it) into brownie mix, and you don't even taste it!

Double strain. Triple strain, if you want to be super dedicated, but at that point its a bit redundant. You basically get 99% of the pulp out the first time but it's always good to be safe. Pour into a glass with a stalk of celery to garnish, and sprinkle on chia seeds.

And voila! Jooz. It tastes really good, I promise. Seriously, I'm not kidding. Drink it! Please?

The restaurant's culture prides itself on being fresh, organic, and local.

Malibu Farm Cafe is nestled at the very end of a Malibu pier. If seated inside, you will be greeted with rustic wooden tables and rusted metal benches. The table settings are all clean white porcelain and clean white and blue linen napkins sit in a bucket. Fresh thyme grows in a pot on each table, adding a fragrant, lemony aroma.

The schedule is actually quite strange. The Cafe is open from Wednesday-Monday, and the Cafe is closed on Tuesdays. Everyday, the Cafe is open twelve hours from 9am-9pm, with the exceptions of Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday, when the Cafe closes at 3pm.
The breakfast and lunch menu is constant, but the dinner menu rotates constantly based of seasonal ingredients or fresh meats. The breakfast menu features a fried egg sandwich with bacon and arugula, quinoa oatmeal with maple syrup and coconut milk, swedish mini pancakes with strawberry maple syrup and farm scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and ricotta.

Their juices and beverages have lines leading down the pier. They offer all juices, a spectrum of coffee ranging from cappuccino to macchiato and so many teas. Their sweets are delicious- we always have one to conclude our meals.

For a farm-to-table beach experience you won't forgot, right off of PCH, head to the Malibu Pier because once you feel the ocean breeze, you won't help but settle down for a dining experience.
I just got back from Paris, and while I was there me and my family stopped by Ralph Lauren for a quick bite to eat. The menu had all sorts of yummy lunch time meals. From cheese burgers to lobster salad, you can't go wrong!

I decided to get the lobster salad, with fries on the side of course!
So we have kind of an update. It could be good or bad depending on how you tend to deal with certain circumstances. So we're going to look at it as some sort of experiment.

Unfortunately (and inconveniently), our entire team will be traveling and out and about the month of July. So, this means our posting schedule will not be as frequent and will be a lot more sporadic. We'll try to keep in close communication, to the best of our abilities, but because some of us don't have access to wifi daily we sometimes won't be able to work out our kinks.

So in advance, we're going to try to post every single day so you have plenty to look at while we're away. So it sounds like a pretty terrible deal. But there's one benefit- travel diaries to look forward to!

So I worked away in my kitchen, trying to find something that balances my sweet tooth and the side of me that wants to make better food choices. And yes, I turned to Google. Because sometimes laziness just trumps health.

So I've taken some of the google results and meshed them with my fave flaves (favorite flavors in Carolyn lingo) to produce this parfait. It's like dessert for breakfast, minus the guilt factor.

You'll need:

-Greek Yogurt (I use the Greek honey yogurt from Trader Joe's.)

-Honey

-Berries (I used strawberries and blueberries, but any berry or fruit will do)

-Granola (The one from Le Pain Quotidien is my favorite, but I de-raisin it before hand)

-Chopped fresh mint

So you don't really need measurements for this one, you kind of play it by eye (I mean, you can't hear your ingredients speaking to you so you can't really play it by ear…). I like to go heavy on yogurt, lighter on the honey, load on the granola, dump on the berries, and but just a teensy bit of mint. But that's just me, and you can do it however you'd like.

Layer, layer, layer! Yogurt first, granola next, fruit on, drizzle your honey, and top with mint. If you wanted extra presentation points, you could put it in a parfait glass and actually do layers. I don't have that kind of time before school so I actually chop my ingredients the night before, pop them in the fridge, and just assemble that morning. It's easier and still tastes delicious.

I've been loving tea lately, so I have a cup of barley tea (don't judge, it's amazing) with milk and sugar. But with this parfait, orange juice, a smoothie, or plain water will do just as well.

Famous for their unique, yet nostalgic flavors like Peppermint Stick, I didn't expect too much when I heard that this fabulous company actually had a STORE. But like my usual expectations with almost everything I've ever endured, I was wrong.

First things first, you can smell the place from a mile away. Their waffle cones not only smell delicious, but taste it too. Thick, crispy, and actually taste like... well, waffles. And I think we can all agree that waffle cones don't normally live up to their names. Next, the flavors. Never have I seen such a list of so many inviting flavors. Chocolate Raspberry Jam, Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Mint Chip, Toasted Coconut Almond Chip... I literally can't name more than that. I'm sure you can find their list somewhere, and I suggest you do.

I'm just going to tell you right off the bat that Mint Chip is my favorite flavor of all time. No matter how many flavors I'm faced with, I'll always order it. So don't judge me that even when offered flavors I don't even think a human (possibly even an angel) could have created, I still order it. So I did. To pair it with something actually unique, I also ordered the Chocolate Raspberry Jam. Yes, I know. You all may be thinking that I could not have chosen two flavors to contradict each other more. But I will tell you that no matter how much one melted into the other (and as a side note, they didn't really- those ice creams hold their own), it still tasted delicious.

Anyway, to "top it all off", all of their toppings are home-made. Seriously. Chocolate chunk cookie chunks, brownie bites, everything. And they even claim that rainbow sprinkles are distant relatives of unicorns- how can you not fall in love with this place?

Because I don't want you to drool too, TOO much, I'll leave it at that. Bottom line, I can't name a more delicious ice-cream place, and whether it be at the actual McConnell's or just your local frozen foods aisle, I promise it is in your best interest to grab a pint and sit down with a nice rom-com.

Until next time!

xx Kate
First, the rides. The pier is the perfect place for a fun day with the family or with friends. The front of the pier is great for little children but as you walk further back, you get to the fun rides. The scrambler and the roller coaster are lots of fun and you can enjoy a beautiful view on the ferris wheel.

This is the question that many hungry customers contemplate while waiting in the long line around the block for some sweet "Snow Cream". Snow Cream is made up of the fine texture of Hawaiian shave ice and the creamy goodness of ice cream. This creates a unique treat called Snow Cream.
At Blockheads, you can choose from a number of flavors of Snow Cream and toppings and syrups to sweeten them. My favorite is strawberry Snow Cream with boba and mochi on top!

My little sister, Chloe really likes the original flavor with boba, chocolate chips and caramel sauce and my other little sister, Lindsey likes the original flavor with boba, brownie bites and caramel sauce

The gelato shop is unique because of the ice cream's presentation- instead of a traditional ice-cream scoop Amorino whips up an ice-cream flower! The store sells many Italian flavors, however my personal favourite is stracciatella, a smooth and creamy vanilla with chocolate pieces to top it all off.

This is a picture of a flower with stracciatella petals and strawberry sorbet as the center.

After hours of touring the palaces and other beautiful monuments of London, Amorino seemed the perfect spot to cool down. I had heard of this place before, and I knew I just had to try it! It's London shop is conveniently located, and surrounded by other great shops to checkout.

After sampling a ton of flavors, it was hard to decide which to choose! Being an ice cream lover myself, I am really picky when it comes to choosing flavors, but each flavor at Amorino was prepared with great quality.

Don't hesitate to stop by when you are ever in London. There are only five locations in the world, but if you are in the States check out Amorino Gelato shop in New York.

Until next time!

Hello. My name is Carolyn. I'm a food-o-holic.

Something about cooking a breakfast is so relaxing, and something about biting into an accomplished meal is so satisfying.

Eggs Benedict are really, really good. I knew I wanted something good, so I started. It only took one and a half hours, between the quick stops to our Bristol Farm's because I forgot to buy chives (sorry, Dad!) and me forgetting to preheat the oven for the English muffins. But I don't regret any of it, because that was hands down one of the best meals I've ever made.

The sharp chives against the lemony and velvety hollandaise, that dripped over the poached egg and smothered over the crispy and smoky Canadian bacon and toasted English muffin.

Then my mom and I (I live for food with my mom!) headed out into Beverly Hills for some brunch. We arrived at the Beverly Hilton in the afternoon.

I also purchased a pair of white slip-on Vans for a DIY I'm going to customize later, but of course, I'll leave that in the forum for you to determine.

If the opportunity ever presents itself and you happen to be Beverly Hills, try brunch at the Beverly Hilton. Until then, you can count down the days 'til the next time I'm out for a nice meal... I know I am.
When Saturday rolls around,we all know what to expect: lazy relaxation, family bonding, and that extra sense of community. We're talking about the Farmer's Market. Every town, big or small has one or at least has one nearby.
The farmer's market is not only good for the body (organic fruit, local produce, fresh squeezed juice? Let's talk about healthy!) but also cleansing the soul and bringing a peace of mind. The farmer's markets each have a culture, mingling the worlds of the venders and shoppers. A trip to the farmer's market does not just entail a quick-food-grab, but is an experience in its own.
Engulfed by swiftly transitioning aromas-the smoke of hot honey walnuts, the sweet and sour smell of cherries and raspberries - even if one is not tasting the food, everyone is indulging (but who am I kidding, the samples are another part of the experience ;).

A market is quite the scene amidst happy children playing, family pets roaming, venders calling out special prices, and shoppers offering bargains.

People are always selling beautiful flowers at the market. Pick some up to give to anyone, or even to set in a vase by your window. Something about waking up and setting your eyes on a colorful bouquet always starts the day out right.

And since the markets only come by once a week everyone hustles out. Like an informal community gathering, one is bound to touch up with friends at the market. Many a Sunday I arrived to the market with plans for a lazy afternoon, but left to an action-filled day with my girlfriends. But don't get me wrong, a trip to the market could be plenty lazy.

While at the Palisades market be sure to stop by Maison Giraud for a French Brunch in the Palisades. Chef Maison Giraud and his staff opened their restaurant just after coming from France. Brunch is slightly pricey but well worth it. Be sure to come by early to ensure that the French Pastries aren't all gone. The croissants are light, buttery, yet not greasy. Blueberry melts into rich cream of danish- an absolute must-get from the menu. As a main dish try the Smoked Salmon Benedict or the light whipped ham and cheese frittata; it's a perfect light breakfast.

At the Brentwood market, no restaurants are in walking distance, but not to worry! Food stalls occupy the rear of the market and one can always find something tasty when passing through.

As ideas were tossed back and forth, some taking bites of their gnocci and some dreaming up the various possibilities, it became clear what they should do: start a joint lifestyle blog about living in Los Angeles, the hidden gems of the West Coast, and their travels.
Laughing over ahi tuna tartare and shrimp caesar salads at the Polo Lounge, six friends shared not only their appetizers, but their ideas for a hypothetical blog that critiqued various hotels.

After plenty of discussion (and soda, and crispy parmesan bread with butter, and some other kind of French bread), our hotel-critiquing blog turned into a life style blog that reflects on Los Angeles day-to-day's, what-to-do's, and everything in between... and everything out of the city!
Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. A classic caesar (parmesan, dressing, croutons... the works) is elevated and modernized with freshly grilled shrimp. The lemony herbs accentuate the juicy shrimp perfectly, giving a light lift to an otherwise "heavy" salad.

This cake was delicious as well! The rich buttercream frosting played beautifully with the crumbly vanilla cake inside. Of course, the presentation was impeccable and looked gorgeous as a very appropriate centerpiece to celebrate Alexa's birthday! (It's July 17, but she celebrates it early).
It was decided, and our first post? The Beverly Hills Hotel, of course. The famous LA Hotel was where we spent a fun-filled Saturday afternoon. Poolside, of course. The pool had speakers that omitted sound, but only when you were underwater (how cool is that?!). We rented a cabana, stocked with magazines, a TV and a cozy couch. In between our four orders of gooey chocolate chip cookie pies, virgin piña coladas, and watermelon juices, we lounged, chatted, and flipped through copies of Vogue and Self. The cabana was definitely a gem, but the chaise lounges arranged on a shaded patio alongside the pool appeared tranquil and relaxing for smaller groups.

As we were escorted from our spots tanning by the pool to the Polo Lounge for dinner, we were all starving and ready to eat. The menu was definitely on the pricier side, but both palate and presentation made up for it, and it was entirely worth it. Prices ranged from the sixteen dollar tortilla soup to the one-hundred eighty dollar Siberian Osetra caviar, so I suppose the price range was... broad to say the least.
After plenty of vitamin D, we left to the catch Neighbors at the new iPic Theater in Westwood, California, but you should let us know if you want all the details. Until then...
